Here’s your Central Florida fishing report for this week We’re deep in peak summer pattern right now — highs climbing into the high-80s to low-90s through the week, with scattered afternoon storms most days (rain chances running 35-75%). Best bet: get out early before the heat and pop-up storms roll in, and always keep an eye on the sky out on open water this time of year.
Around Our Home Waters — Johns Lake, Harris Chain, Clermont Chain, Lake Toho, and Headwaters Lake:
🔥 What’s Hot:
- Lake Toho continues producing well on wild shiners, with guides averaging strong numbers of bass per trip, some pushing 7-8 lbs. On the artificial side, flukes, senkos, and 10-inch worms are getting bit around open-water hydrilla edges.
- Harris Chain is staying active for summer patterns — deep grass edges and low-light hours (dawn/dusk) are your best windows right now.
- Bluegill and shellcracker are also thick in the grass and lily pads across the chain if you want a break from bass and a good fish fry.
❄️ What’s Not:
- Midday heat is shutting the bite down fast — if you’re out there from 11-3, expect it to be tough no matter what you throw.
- Specks (crappie) are slowing down as we move deeper into summer.
